Mother's Day is a day to show the mother figure in your life how much you love them!

Here are a few inspiring ideas to make this May 14th special.

A few of Mums favourite things.

The number one most important thing about Mother's Day is making sure you think about the things that they like. Have a chat about what they would like to do on Mother's Day. If that doesn't inspire you then try writing a list of their favourite things to give you clues and ideas.

To Mother's Day and Beyond!

One of the most popular traditions on Mother's Day is making breakfast for your mum. Why not go the extra mile this year and make sure the magic of the morning rolls on through the day. Plan activities and acts of kindness so they feel special the whole day through. If something you do is really appreciated why not try making it a permanent thing?

Be our Guest.

You don't have to cook or prepare every meal on Mother's Day but you can make each meal special. From breakfast to dinner you can make mum feel like a VIP. Why not try decorating the table with hand drawn place keeping labels, serviettes, flowers and candles.

Look for the Bare necessities!

You don't need to have lots of money or even time on your side to have a great Mother's Day. You can use the talents you already have; perform a song, write a poem, bake or even organise to spend some quality time with your mum doing something you both love. If you are feeling creative then take a look at how to make a paint dipped vase for Mother's Day.

Singing in the Rain.

Even if the cake you baked sinks, the music stops working, someone isn't well or it rains when you had planned a picnic, don't worry. It's not about having everything ‘perfect', so just show the mother figure in your life that you care and make the most of whatever comes your way.

Any happy little thought.

The fact you have read to this point already shows that you are putting a lot of thought into Mother's Day. And as many mums often say; “it's the thought that counts.” No matter what it is you do if it's done with love, it will make the day special.

Fun Question: Each of the six titles in this article are inspired by quotes or song lyrics in famous films. Can you and your mum guess what songs and films they are inspired by?
