Pokémon Shining Pearl shines bright with 4.5 Stars out of 5 from Upstart’s Kid Reporter…

Do you love all things Pokémon? I do, and recently, Nintendo launched Pokémon Shining Pearl for the Nintendo Switch and it’s super fun!

My 17-year-old brother has told me that this game is a remake with graphic and gameplay upgrades of the fourth-gen DS game he used to play, so it brought back memories for him to see me playing it!

In the game, you play as a kid with the goal of becoming a professional Pokémon trainer. You have just received your first Pokémon and with the help of a map, you navigate through the Sinnoh Region looking for new Pokémon, challenging them to level up.

Along the way, you also have to collect badges by defeating Pokémon Gym Leaders and have to stop the bad guys with the different attacks you have available.

There are lots of different towns to explore which makes it exciting to play, and the Pokémon are super cute!

As a newbie to gaming, I found it easy to play on my own, and because there are instructions to read, I got to practise my reading (which makes Mum happy).

I like that I got to choose the names of the Pokémon I had collected making them feel like I really owned them.
