Upstart Magazine is a publication for boys and girls aged seven to 13. It is distributed through New Zealand schools, the retail sector, and personal subscriptions

Schools participate by assisting students to get their work and ideas into Upstart Magazine and website.

Parents may also submit their children’s work, directly.

However, ALL submissions – whether via a school or parent/guardian – must have a child’s signature to say he/she aggrees to having their work submitted for publication.

Contributions submitted by children include: letters, artwork, creative writing (short stories, poetry), quizzes, articles and interviews etc.

Use of student work and images

Student work and images (photos and drawings) may be used as a part of Upstart Magazine, website (www.upstartmag.co.nz), and/or promotional materials.

In completing a permission form, you are giving consent to the publication of your child/pupil’s creative contribution. COPYRIGHT remains with the child at all times.

Your child is also giving his/her consent that he/she is indeed happy for us to publish their work.
