 | | Littering is just not COOL!
People who litter are ruining our future planet. I get disappointed when I see litter on the ground because it tells me that some people are just lazy and have no respect for their environment.
What can we do to make sure people don’t litter? We could make it illegal, like Singapore. There people get fined big amounts of money if they drop litter on the ground. It must work because they have a clean and tidy place. We should do that here in New Zealand.

Maybe schools could put posters around littered areas to warn children that if they are seen dropping their litter they will spend their lunchtime picking up rubbish.
At our school we have to put our wrappers back into our lunch boxes and take them home. This seems to keep our school clean. If a teacher sees a child littering, the child is sent to the caretaker and he gets that person to help out with all his jobs.
Also junior children ‘caught being good’ go into a draw to win prizes. If other schools did the same as our school maybe we could all have a place we’d be proud of. |
