Being a leader is a great experience and something I’ve always wanted to do.

It’s all about being trusted and responsible. You have to make the right choices, especially in friends. I also think it’s about doing the right thing at the right time – for the right reason.

Learn from your mistakes

I’ve heard that many people become leaders from making mistakes.

They turn
their mistakes around so that it becomes a good thing and they create a new opportunity to do something good. If you think you will be able to do something, then you will. It’s all about putting your mind to it. Who thought someone would kayak from New Zealand to Australia? Someone did!
But they wouldn’t have been able to do it if they hadn’t put their mind to it

Believe it!

To be a leader, you must have pride in yourself. Believe in yourself and you can accomplish anything! It doesn’t mean you’re not going to get your hands dirty either! And it doesn’t mean you’re not going to have to do as much work as everyone else. It means you have to work harder, but it’s worth it.

Role model

A leader is a role model and you must set a good example for everyone else to follow.
You must be patient and listen to everyone and what they have to say. In other words, you have to treat everyone equally. Respect everyone and their environment. Treat them how you would like to be treated. You would want people to be nice and friendly to you, so do the same and then they will treat you the same way back. It’s very important to be a leader. Not many people get this opportunity so don’t take it for granted. It may seem hard but it’s actually simple. So give it a go. You can do it! Make it your goal!
