Meet 7-year-old JORDAN NAGAI, the voice behind Russell in the movie, UP.
Jordan hadn’t even intended to audition for the part.
He’d simply tagged along when his brother, a talented actor, auditioned for the part along with 450 other kids in the USA.
But during the wait, Jordan started talking to the show’s producer, jonas Rivera. “He started talking to us about his judo class. Bob Peterson (co-director) and I just looked at each and said, “There’s Russell!”

“One of the things that attracted us to Jordan was when he just talked about nothing - judo or piano lessons or whatever - he would just meander and the way he spoke was so funny. That did influence Russell quite a bit,” said Rivera. |

Check out these amazing shots from the Los Angeles premiere of UP! The Pixar Animation Studios team actually recreated a giant balloon – made out of balloons – which suspended a toy house high in the sky between the skyscrapers! Wow!
