When the Nutri-Grain Taupo Half starts on December 11, lining up will be star Ironman athlete and former Half Ironman World Champion, Terenzo Bozzone. 

  
The Taupo Half will be a warm up event for the Nutri-Grain Ironman New Zealand to be held in Taupo on March 5, 2011.
 
Terenzo, 25, has always loved sport. When he was head boy at Auckland’s Rangitoto College, he took out 22 National titles in triathlon, duathlon, cross-country, track
and field, and multisport.
 
A previous World Under 20 Duathlon Champion, Terenzo is now focussed on the king of triathlons, the Ironman. His goal? To become the World Champion!
He’s already halfway there!
 
In the last few years, Terenzo has become World Champion of the Half Ironman distance! He’s also come second two years in a row at Ironman New Zealand, showing that he has the stuff it takes to go all the way!
 

 

  1. Eat properly! And definitely eat breakfast! You can’t expect your body to run on empty and you definitely can’t run it on junk food.
     
  2. Get out there and do something you enjoy! There are so many sports to choose from!
     
  3. Listen to your coaches, teachers, and parents. They are there to support you and help you be the best you can be. (By the way, thanks Mum for all the 4.30am car rides to the swimming pool!)
     
  4. Be committed! A little bit every day is heaps better than too much in one go. You want to feel good afterwards!
     
  5. Be disciplined! Have a goal and make a plan to do something towards it each day. Be prepared to work your butt off!
